Sinai at St. Paul's this Saturday evening, June 11th for Vespers at 6 pm and then for his presentation on “The Spiritual Tradition of Desert Monasticism at St. Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai” at 7:30 pm in the St. Paul's Parish Center. Speaker: Elder Pavlos (Priest and monk of St. Catherine's Monastery, Sinai)

Elder Pavlos is the senior monk and elder ascetic of Saint Catherine's Monastery at Mount Sinai, Egypt, the oldest Christian monastery in continuous existence. A 1972 graduate of the School of Theology of the University of Athens, Elder Pavlos is a desert ascetic himself with four decades of immersion in the tradition of desert asceticism that reaches back to the foundational period of early Christianity.
