Today's Sermon in a Nutshell:
If you were to go around and ask people what would make them happier, you would probably get answers like a raise in pay, winning the lottery, a new car, a bigger house, or a boat to sale to the Bahamas. Very few would ever say, "A chance to help other people and share what I have been given." And yet, when we give of ourselves and help others in their time of need, doesn't that bring with it a sense of satisfaction; isn't that what makes us truly happy?
In today's gospel lesson Christ heals a man who was physically blind, yet our Lord can also heal those who are emotionally blinded by materialism, greed, and a false dependence upon things of this world; opening their eyes to see and experience true happiness by sharing our blessings and gifts with one another!
