Story. Heavenly guardians

When Monk Cyril built the Belozersky monastery, some residents of the surrounding villages were surprised at the ambulance work and imagined that the elder had great wealth. One landlord, driven by self-interest, armed his people and sent them to rob the monastery.
The robbers waited for the night to suddenly attack the sleeping monks. When they approached the monastery, they saw around it a lot of armed people. They decided to wait, but the soldiers did not leave, and the robbers, waiting in vain until midnight, returned home with nothing. They came the next night, but saw even more soldiers around the monastery. Frightened, they went home and told their landlord everything. The mercenary, believing that one of the nobles and his entourage came to the monastery to pray and accept the blessing from the monk, sent one of the servants to the monastery. He had to secretly find out from the monks about armed men. When the servant returned with the news that there were no pilgrims or visitors in the monastery, the landowner was frightened. He understood that the Lord is guarding His servants, and being afraid of the righteous wrath of God, immediately went to St. Cyril, with tears, confessed his sin before him and told him about the miraculous vision. Thanking God, the monk forgave the errant and said: "Believe me, and tell others that I have nothing from monastic vows, except for the clothes that you see on me, and books." The landowner, surprised by the meekness of the Monk Cyril, returned home, rejoicing and thanking God that He did not allow him to insult his servant. From that time the landowner became a generous philanthropist of the monastery.
