Such is “paradise” ... One monk told:

Such is  “paradise” ...
One monk told:

“I somehow saw in a dream that I was dead! I see next to me someone bright. He stands nearby, but I can't see the face . This is my Guardian Angel, I thought. And so, he leads me to some room, in appearance, as if a warehouse. I was very surprised by the things that I saw on the shelves. Large bottles of water and packs of candles. Baskets with apples and Easter cakes. And next them tape recorders, televisions, stereos!

- What is it? Where are we? - I asked my companion.

“And this is paradise,” he said.

- Yes, what is this "paradise"? Is this a joke of some kind! - I doubted.

“This is the“ paradise of modern piety ”—consumer faith — was heard in response. And the stern voice of my companion continued:

- They listen to church hymns on disks and tapes, but they do not pray! Watching the service on TV, and in the church they do not put a foot! They pick up holy water with cans, bless apples and eggs, but they never confess and take communion! This consumer attitude is how they are towards their faith and hope to justify themselves at the Last Judgment. These piety objects deserve paradise!

- And their masters?

“And their masters ...” and the Angel wept bitterly.
