On the occassion of the feast of St. Paraskevi in Koropi, Attica, a marvelous event occurred with a family:
The testimony of the family is as follows: There lives in Koropi a married couple where the husband is the faithful member of the household and his wife is unfaithful and mocker of faith.
The man had very great piety for St. Paraskevi. Always on the eve and on her feast day, he lit up the lamp in his house. On the contrary, his wife never bothered.
On the day of her feast he rose up in the morning, and after leaving his wife and mother-in-law to sleep, he dressed and carefully left the house for the Church. He closed the front door and locked it twice.
So he went to the church and after service he returned home.
As soon as he arrived he found the two women terrified and panicked.
He asked them what had happened, and they asked him if he had left the door unlocked this morning. The husband said, " Of course I locked the door, since we know here in Koropi what a problem we have with thieves. But why are you so anxious?" the husband asked them.
So they told him: "As soon as you left this morning, we heard the door unlock. Twice click, click. We startled !!! We saw a very beautiful woman in front of us dressed in fine black clothes, looking at us speechless and going to the room where the lamp is.
She goes in that room, gets the candle and then afterwards goes into the kitchen and pours olive oil in lamp, puts a wick in it and lights it up. She takes the candle and puts it back in the room. She looks at us in a very strict way and tells us,'Today is my feast day,' and leaves again where she came from."
The women were overwhelmed and could not speak at all with this marvelous event that happened to them. The husband was moved by this miracle made by Saint Paraskevi to his unfaithful wife.
