At the age of 92, Evdokia Sukhanova (Venerable Mother Zosima) made a repeated pilgrimage on foot to Jerusalem.
An amazing holy woman of amazing fate
She was born and died on the same day - March 1, only 115 years passed between the year of her birth (1820) and the year of her repose (1935)!
115 years filled with light, hardships, persecution, and comfort. But until her death, Zosima helped people unselfishly.
Her husband died during the Russo-Turkish War,she also survived her son her son and at the age of 72 Evdokia Sukhanova took monastic vows at the Pokrovo-Ennatsky monastery! Think about it, at the age of 72, when most of us already think we have lived our lives. Isn't this an example that there are no age limits while the soul seeks light. Later she takes the monastic tonsure of the Great Schema with the name Zosima.
Through her prayers, not far from the monastery there is a healing spring, and later a hermitage with a chapel in the name of the Most Holy Trinity was arranged near it.
During the time of the persecution of the Church, the Monastery was closed, and the peasants hid Matushka Zosima. In a holy cypress coffin brought from Jerusalem, she slept in one or another hut, and in it she was carried from village to village when the eldress had to be "hidden."
The past, present and future were revealed to Zosima. She also had a strong gift of healing, the people came to her incessantly.
They buried her in her native village of Sentsovka, Orenburg region.
On June 11, 2006, Zosima was canonized as Venerable Zosima of Annatskaya.

“I will stay with you forever, I will never leave you,” said Mother Zosima, and people are still healed at her grave.
