“Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the Terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord.” (Genesis 13:16)
This spot to which God directed Abram to was an ideal location; fertile, well-watered, and the perfect place to set up residence. And as was his practice wherever he traveled, Abram immediately set about to build and altar to the Lord which demonstrated his faith, commitment, and thankfulness to God while also providing a testimony to the surrounding peoples.
