His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim of Sendai has been canonically elected Archbishop of Tokyo, Metropolitan of All Japan,First Hierarch and Primate of the Autonomous Orthodox Church of Japan (MP).The Japanese Church was granted autonomous status by the Moscow Patriarchate in 1970.
