The Book of Hebrews talks about the “blood covenant” made between us and God. Acovenant is a kind of promise, contract, or binding agreement between two parties based upon trust and is everlasting. And since blood was considered the sacred source of life, covenants were often “sealed” in blood. Therefore, the blood covenant made between God and Abraham consisted of circumcision, while the New Covenant made between God and us is realized in Christ’s Crucifixion.
