“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

To “confess” means to recognize, acknowledge, and openly profess our sins and transgressions; to admit our guilt in disobeying God and breaking His commandments. If we do, our God – Who is a just and merciful God – will forgive and pardon those sins, washing and cleansing us by His love, healing us spiritually, and mending that brokenness in our relationship.
