“Knit together in love.” (Col. 2:2)
Knitting is a slow, intricate, deliberate process in which strands of yarn are woven together into something stronger, greater, warmer, and more beautiful than they were on their own. In a sense, this can serve as a metaphor for how God desires His Church to be: His People “knitted together” in love and unity to worship and serve as one Body. Yet, this doesn’t happen instantly. Knitting together parish community takes vision and requires patience, precision, and care so that everyone is blended as a whole and unified in Christ.
Fr. John
