“Remember my chains.” (Col. 4:18)

“Remember my chains.” (Col. 4:18)

St. Paul was no stranger to persecution and imprisonment, but he also used these dyer situations as opportunities to bear witness to the Faith. Remembering Paul’s chains reminds us that we, too, might have to one day suffer for Christ.

Today we often think of persecution in terms of torture or martyrdom, but persecution comes in many forms. Some Christians are killed or locked behind bars, while others are threatened with violence, intimidation, discrimination, or even suffer humiliation and ridicule. Regardless, as Christian persecution grows, so does the gospel, because suffering and adversity seems to inspire and encourage good people to stand up and stand fast for the Faith.
