May 7 is the feast day of St. Alexis Toth (†1909), a Carpatho-Russian born in the Austrian Empire. Born into a Greek-Catholic family, he converted to Orthodoxy and his example led to thousands of other Eastern Catholics returning to Orthodoxy, their ancestral faith.
