In today's epistle lesson (James 3"1-10), the Apostle goes through great lengths to inform us on the importance of "taming our tongues;" for he likens the tongue to a small spark that can set a whole forest ablaze.
Therefore, a sharp word, loose comment, or callous remark can cause a conflagration that cannot be extinguished. Words can consume and destroy life.
