Patience does not have limits because true patience is the gift of the Holy Spirit. We naturally have patience according to our created nature—but what we have through our nature is the capacity to bear. We bear something until we are not able to anymore. Some people are weaker, and some are heroes who can endure much. But this bearing turns us into objects. This table bears the objects that we set upon it. Bearing something can be an action we are proud of, but it does not heal us or others; it does not change anything. Patience is what changes me and others. But patience is only our work together with God. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that we receive and work with. Therefore, to see what patience is, say: “Lord, give me patience! Lord, grant me to be patient with this!”-
