An elder was privileged to see the place where the saints of God rest after death.
And so, in a wonderful place, he saw a man and asked him:
“What did you do in the world?”
“I was a worker for an evil man.
I suffered a lot from him, I did not receive my wages, and he, in general, did me only harm. That is why they brought me here after death.”
Then the elder saw another man also in a wonderful and glorious place, and asked him how he deserved it, and this man replied:
“I was a leper and I endured my illness with gratitude until the end, and that is why I was given this place after death.”
Finally, the elder saw a third man, but not in such a glorious place, and asked him why he was there.
He replied:
“I was a monk for a long time and worked constantly to save my soul, and later I became a bishop.”
