On the sidewalk sat an old man in a worn coat. Next to
him stood a cardboard box with the inscription: "Give me joy".
The child approached the old man. A coin was clamped
in his fist. He wanted to give alms, but, approaching, he stopped in amazement.
There was no money in the box. There were sweets, homemade toys, children's
books and a lot of stuff.
- Good day, - the old man smiled.
- Hello, - the boy was embarrassed. - And I only have
money.
"It happens," the old man nodded
sympathetically. - Do you like sweets?
- No, I cannot have.
- And read?
- I do not know yet.
"Then maybe you like to blow ballons?"
The boy nodded - that's what he really loved! Then the
old man took out a handful of colorful balloons from the box and handed it to
him.
"What do I owe you?" The child asked
incredulously.
"Hey, I owe you this!" Cried the old man.
"You gave me joy, after all." To make someone happy is a wonderful
opportunity.
And that, you know, is never worth to miss!
