“[They] exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” (Romans 1:25)

“[They] exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” (Romans 1:25)

Voltaire once said, “If God did not exist, it would be necessary for man to invent him.” Yet just the opposite is true. Man, created by God and made in His Image and Likeness, naturally longs and thirsts for a relationship with his Creator. Man is inherently religious and sacrificial by nature, desiring to offer thanksgiving and worship.

However, the devil, sowing evil, discord, doubt, and confusion sways man to NOT believe in the One, Supreme, transcendent God, which causes in man the need to then “create” other gods to worship: Earthly idols, a new “golden calf,” and counterfeit gods such as materialism, wealth, power, beauty, food, art, entertainment, athletics/sports, politics, and such.
