After Cain killed his brother and was banished by God, he settled in the “Land of Nod, East of Eden.” There he took a wife and beget children, all of whom seemed to carry on Cain’s evil traits. In fact, Cain’s great-great-great grandson, Lamech, son of Methushael (not Methuselah), also murdered a man and was the first to take two wives, Adah and Zilla – the Bible’s first mention of polygamy.
Fr. John
