What is the difference between a believer (a person
whose life is Christ) and a non-believer?
If we judge in terms of sinfulness, we may not see
much difference, because even a believer sins and we should know this very
well.
If we are not aware of this, then what do we know at
all? Shouldn’t we know ourselves, more or less?
The difference between a believer and a non-believer
is not that the believer doesn’t sin or make mistakes, but the difference is
primarily in the special state of the heart. which is currently impossible for
me to explain, but this is what the holy Fathers say:
The spirit of a human being, who perceives himself as
a citizen of heaven, indicates the special state of his heart. This kind of
person cannot live without Christ and even when they sin, they perceive
themselves as a child of Christ, as a sister and as a brother of Christ.
This kind of person lives in God all the time, as for
him there is no set time for God. So, it is impossible to put him in despair,
even when he falls.
It’s absolutely impossible to frighten or bribe them
to betray Christ, because they are martyrs and they testify by their lives,
that Jesus Christ is the Incarnate God.
They are granted the boldness of becoming the
disciples of Christ and daring to call “Father” to the heavenly Father.
There is no such privilege in any other religion, as
in Christianity, to call “our Father” to God.
This kind of life is extremely interesting, because
this kind of person has great inner depth and is always happy despite the
circumstances of his life.
This kind of human being cannot be defeated by the
devil, who fights him and throws him into the abyss, because even while being
in the abyss, he calls the name of Christ.
