We strive for happiness. We want to be happy and joyful, and our lives to be real and full.Archpriest Theodore Gignadze

We strive for happiness. We want to be happy and joyful, and our lives to be real and full.

In a parable of the Holy Gospel, we see a person whose land has produced good crops and he is "guaranteed" to live for many years in peace and wealth, without any care and thus, for him, this is the foundation and source of happiness.
He longs and strives for happiness, but what does the Lord call him?
The Lord calls this person a fool. In other words, He calls him silly.
First of all, how can a person be happy only with earthly and material things?!
Second – nobody has anything guaranteed in this world.
And third, where a person’s treasure is, there will his heart be also, as the Lord says.
This man's treasure is not in heaven, but on earth. His treasure is in earthly prosperity.
We know, in theory, that there is no happiness in this world.
The fullness of human happiness cannot exist in this world.
Despite this, we don’t have the persistence in seeking the Lord that makes a person happy.
