“The Lord was hungry” – this is a kind of a symbolic image. Archpriest Theodore Gignadze

“The Lord was hungry” – this is a kind of a symbolic image.

In the parable which God creates Himself, He allowed the weakness of His physical body – He gets hungry.
What is the hunger of the Lord?
Do you remember what the Lord says after talking to the Samaritan woman?
“My food is to do the will of the Heavenly Father.”
And then He explains - what does this mean? What is this about?
This is about feeding the human beings the word of God, which is the missionary work.
The Lord is hungry and He is filled by the fruits that we bear, by the True word of God coming out of the sanctified heart, which is obtained by the inner spiritual life.
For this, God became incarnate, for this He suffered, for this He died, He was buried, He rose and ascended into Heaven.
For this, God keeps the human nature in eternity and He will again serve us, when He comes back in glory.
