“There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one.” (1st Cor. 12:4-6)
If a congregation wanted to build a physical temple to worship in, they would employ architects, contractors, cement workers, bricklayers, electricians, carpenters, sheet-rockers, flooring people, painters – not to mention those workers who do all of the inside finishing and those craftsmen who carve altars, tables, pews, and stands. Yet in the end, when everything is completed, not any one of them can say that they built the temple. They each had and did they’re part.
The same is true in the Christian Faith. Nothing rests upon any one person’s shoulders because we each have an integral part to play in the upbuilding of Christ’s Church; not a “physical” one, but a spiritual one that exudes light, life, faith, and hope for all to see and come to.
