“Assuredly, I say to you…” (Luke 21:32)
In the Gospels, the expressions “assuredly” or “most assuredly” are sometimes translated as “Truly, truly”; “Verily, verily”; or even “Amen, amen” and are a particular peculiarity of Jesus’ teaching. He uses such distinct verbiage to not only emphasize a point, but to show that they are non-negotiable.
