St. Peter refers to Christ as the Living Stone and invites each of us to become “living stones built into a spiritual house” (1st Peter 2:4-5). However, for us to properly fit into the intricate, architectural structure of God’s Holy Church, we must first allow ourselves to be hewn, cut, and shaped by Christ. This process is accomplished by adhering to the tenets of our Faith, following the Gospel teachings, and by truly being committed to a life of prayer and fasting.
