Parents, good parents, who are
spiritual people, come to me to complain about their child, who has gone
astray.
And I say: “Look, you may consider
yourselves good and simply care about your child who is getting lost. Still,
God allows this to happen to your child, precisely for you, so that you can see
some faults of your own, which you haven’t seen yet. You may have selfishness
in you… a good impression of yourselves, or something else which you haven’t
noticed. If you attend to them, and your own soul is healed from these sins and
passions, your child will be healed, too. God will bring him back to the right
path. Back to you.” Indeed, so it happens very often.
