The more one struggles and toils, the more he realizes that he can only be saved by the mercy of God.
The more one struggles and toils, the more he realizes that he can only be saved by the mercy of God.
We must always remember that we can only be saved by the mercy of God.
Certainly, it is necessary to toil and struggle. However, this is not something one initiates in order to receive gifts from God.
Rather, it is a fruit of God’s love for me and an expression of my gratitude to Him.
As I realize what Christ did for me, I toil out of my gratitude to God and not in order to receive certain gifts.
The thing that is truly paramount is not what you do...
Rather, it is knowing the Lord, which means having a personal relationship with the Incarnate God.
Only by this can the evil be overcome - not only within oneself, but also within the parish and within the entire country.
No matter how much we struggle, we won’t achieve anything, unless we realize a very simple Truth, that we will be saved only by the mercy of God.
This does not mean I should be passive. Rather, it means that I should exert myself to the maximum in pursuing the personal relationship with God.
Archpriest Theodore Gignadze
