Father Nikolozi's aunt was my father sister. I am older than he and remember his childhood. He was a clever, polite, full of energy, cheerful, loving child. One of his habits slightly stand him out from other children- he never tried to get out of the awkward situation by lying. He used to always tell the truth, no matter how painful it was for him, and it always astounded everyone around him. When I gọt married, Father Nikolozi blessed our house. His visit was a real celebration for us. He was radiating love, warmth, and kindness.
Once I had a strong desire to see Father Nikolozi. I had been preparing for it for three days, finally, I took my youngest son, George, and we drove to Tsaghveri.
When we were approaching Tsagveri, George fell asleep, and I started talking to Father Nikolozi in my heart which turned into my confession. I was driving the car, tears were running down on my face and I, the old man, was confessing to Father Nikolozi.
It was getting dark when we arrived in Tsagveri. Father Nikolozi was happy to see us. I told him about us, although as I realized he was already aware of what's happened to me. He knew everything about us. I also told him that we had met Mrs. Rusudan (Saint's mother) and told her worries. I asked him about his health. Father Nikolozi was in silence and without saying anything, he showed me his foot.
Both his feet were swollen and ulcerated; it was surprising how he was even standing or walking. I recommended him to raise his legs while in bed or to put a pillow underneath so that the swelling goes away. He smiled and nodded (refusing). When we asked his uncle Merabi Tsintsadze, how father Nikolozi slept, he told us that he had not slept in bed for many years. His body hadn't touched bed for a long time. He spends his night sitting on a chair. Sometimes if you hear a noise coming from his room that means Father Nikolozi had fallen asleep and fell from the chair."
During the farewell, Father Nikoloz's eyes shone brilliantly... He blessed our safe long-distance travel, which aided us in overcoming numerous obstacles while leaving abroad.
