“God is faithful…” (1st Cor. 1:9)
The Greek word used for “faithful” is pistos, which also conveys the concept of being trustworthy. Therefore, when scripture declares that God is faithful, it signifies His trustworthiness, or more succinctly, when God makes a promise, He keeps it; His word is unwavering, He will not break His promises.
In this context, our own faith and trust in God stems from God’s faithfulness and trust in us. This is the solid, firm foundation Christianity is built upon.
