May 20 / June 2, 1829, on the eve of the feast of the Holy Trinity, a sister left her cell at night and saw that Father Seraphim in his white robe started digging the groove. In fright and joy, she ran into the cell and told the sisters about it. The sisters ran out to that place and, seeing the father, fell at his feet, but, having risen, did not find him. Only a shovel and hoe lay in front of them on the dug up earth. A small groove has been dug out..
So, being transferred by spirit to Diveevo, Father Seraphim marked the beginning of the holy canal. After that, the sisters began to dig it.
The beginning of the groove is clearly visible on the right photo. Now this place is marked with fir trees.
