“…now we are children of God.” (1st John 3:2)

Many people believe that since every human being is designed by God, created by God, given life by God, and loved by God, that ever person is a “child of God.” This is not the case. The scriptures teach that one can only become a child of God when we are adopted by God (Ephesians 1:5; Romans 8:15). And no one can be adopted by God without consent. Thus, we must willing choose to enter and be a part of God’s Holy Family; meaning, we acknowledge God as our Father, emulate His character, and follow His household rules.
