Orthodox films: "Amphilochios, Saint of Patmos" and "Sacred Alaska".

Our dear friends at nearby Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church have reserved The Chabot Theater in Castro Valley, California on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 for a Double Feature of two recently released Orthodox films: "Amphilochios, Saint of Patmos" and "Sacred Alaska".

"Amphilochios, Saint of Patmos" explores the life and spiritual legacy of Saint Amphilochios (1889-1970) from the Greek island of Patmos. St. Amphilochios was a tireless spiritual father, missionary, and founder of orphanages and monasteries.

"Sacred Alaska" showcases the profound influence of Orthodoxy, introduced by Russian monks in the late 18th century, on Alaskan Society and how Alaskans have woven their indigenous beliefs with Orthodox traditions.

The film makers will also be present for questions and answers after the viewing of the films.

The address of The Chabot Theater is 2853 Castro Valley Blvd, Castro Valley, CA 94546.

The films will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by a question and answer session with the film makers until approximately 9:00 PM.

Admission is free. But because space is limited, pre-registration is required here: https://bit.ly/Mar26Registration
