“Once you were no people but now you are God’s people.” (1st Peter 2:12)

“Once you were no people but now you are God’s people.” (1st Peter 2:12)

In other words, God has given us our identity; an identity that we should strive to grow into. We must always remember that the Christian Faith is not only an inheritance, but a responsibility as well. Perhaps this is what the early Christian writer, Tertullian, had in mind when he famously remarked that “Christians are not born, they’re made.”
