“Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left…” (Romans 11:3)
In writing to the Romans who are feeling abandoned by God and left alone to stand up for the truth, Paul uses the above statement uttered by the Prophet Elijah (1Kings 19:10) to remind them that even though times might seem tough and they wonder where God is amidst all of the unrighteousness and evils upon the earth, to stand fast to the faith and proclaim what is right because there are always others who are of the same ilk and committed to the Faith.
