Protopresbyter Michael Pomazansky. Here is what this spiritual giant of Orthodoxy once wrote:

Consider the title of the Cretan document "Relations of the Orthodox Church with the rest of the Christian world" in the light of the profound insights of Protopresbyter Michael Pomazansky. Here is what this spiritual giant of Orthodoxy once wrote:

"If Orthodoxy is the purest form in a line of other forms of Christianity, then where will the authors of this collection place the Church? Will not the name of the Church then be spread throughout all Christianity in the hundreds of its forms of confessions of faith? And if the Church is equated to Christianity in general, then in this diffused state, what does the Church add to Christianity? Is She in that case necessary? And where is She to be found in life, in a concrete incarnation?"

This is why, not only the content, but also the title (of this document) needs to be rejected... nay, all of it should be thrown into the flames...

(Some people talk about, possibly correcting the troublesome parts of this document, at some point in the future, to try to make it Orthodox. But, this begs the question: will the ecumenists really ever accept anything that is truly Orthodox?)
