"What did you do grandma?"

A pious old lady had come down from her village to the city to attend a trial as a witness. When the trial was over, the woman went to a restaurant to eat. She ordered and when the food came, before she started eating, she got up and made the sign of the cross.

Two students eating at the next table, as soon as they saw her making the sign of the cross, jokingly told her:

"What did you do grandma?"

 And the pious woman answered them:

"My children, I did what separates humans from animals!"
