Today’s Sermon in a Nutshell:
Today’s Sermon in a Nutshell:
“Two men went up to the temple to pray,” each seeking God from their own perspective. The Pharisee entered the temple “full of himself” and his prayer was long as he bragged of his many accomplishments and virtues, while the Publican entered in a self-abasing fashion and “emptied himself” with a short prayer simply asking God to forgive him. At the conclusion of the service, only the Publican emerged changed a changed person, for his prayer alone was heard by God. And that my friends, is the long and short of it!
Fr. John
