Russian hieromonk Tikhon (1884 - 1968) 60 years old labored on Holy Mt Athos. From great and inexhaustible reverence before the Most Holy Theotokos he read with tears to Her several akathists during the day.
To adopt Tikhon's monasticism prompted the next miracle.
In Siberia, where he was from, there was always a lot of wheat, so people there ate white bread as usual. Being a young man and traveling around Russian monasteries, Tikhon once arrived in Moscow.
Here people ate black bread, which he was not used to eating, and therefore he remained hungry for several days.
Passing by the bakery, he saw a certain wife who gave him a loaf of warm white bread. To find and thank her, the young man went to the bakery.
"Where is the woman who gave me the bread?" he asked the baker.
“There is no woman here,” replied the baker, “and besides, we have no white bread.”
The young man looked at the white bread, from which there was still steam, and from tenderness tears clouded his eyes. He realized that it was a gift of the Blessed Virgin.
Father Tikhon ate this bread throughout his pilgrimage. After this miracle, he decided to devote himself to God and become a monk. "
