Today’s Sermon in a Nutshell:

Today’s Sermon in a Nutshell:

Feast of All Saints

"...follow after Me." (Matt. 10:38)

Today's gospel speaks of following Jesus. As followers of Christ, we are called upon to live and be guided by much higher principles and standards than the rest of the world. In fact, our Lord asks us to even separate ourselves from this world: to be “in” the world, but not “of” the world.

Therefore, Christians are expected to live their lives in such a way that those who are not of the faith will easily intuit something “different” about us. They will recognize a distinct Light, Love, and Way about us that witnesses our commitment to God; a shining force reflecting Christ to others.

Those followers who do not make the effort to live in accordance to Christ’s teachings do Him and the world a great disservice. So much so that they should come with a disclaimer: “Any similarities between true followers of Christ, both living or dead, is purely coincidental.”

Fr. John
