Merry Christmas, you wonderful wonderful creatures! May the New-Born Child bless you beyond your greatest hopes, may He always guard you against all darkness and guide you to His Light.
Be joyous, be loving, be forgiving and patient. When evil fights you, in any form, be silent in your heart, wish no evil in return and Christ will fight on your behalf. When gladness springs in your heart, share it with everyone - be whatever your brother or sister needs you to be. Share your joy as you share the light of a candle, and you will lose nothing - your joy will be even greater!
I pray you rejoice like children for the smallest of things. We are alive. God loves us so much that He gave us life, He called us from non-being into being. That Love never dies out, that same Love will meet us when we enter the next life.
And one last thing. We all lost people we love. We all have hidden voids in our hearts, filled with lost faces and forgotten voices which all echo back to us at Christmas. If you suffer, that is a sign that you still love. That that is an immense gift.
Those we love are no longer here for us to tell them so, to caress and manifest our love to them. But in Christ we are one - manifest that love towards those who so desperately need it, caress your loved ones through those who struggle and Christ will bless your heart to KNOW that your love has reached the ones you miss.
Love. That is all. A most practical and easy thing to do: love. Through good deeds or through prayer - just love. And Christ will be born in your heart and that Joy will take away all suffering.
Merry Christmas! I thank you all for everything - fr seraphim
