A wonderful source given to us by God!
We came to the monastery of Abbas Theodosius in Skopele. The monastery stands on the mountain between the coastal Seleucia and Cilician Ross. The fathers of this monastery took us even higher up the mountain, to the distance of the flight of an arrow. They pointed us to the source and said. “This rich and beautiful source is given to us by God. Verily, it is not from nature, but is a gift from God. Our holy and great father Theodosius fasted a great deal and prayed with tears on his knees, asking God to give this water to us to comfort and drink. Previously, fathers mined water from a mountain stream, but God, always fulfilling the desires of those who fear Him, granted us the blessing of this water through the prayers of our father. For two years before this, some of the brethren asked the hegumen to allow them to build a bathhouse in the monastery. Abba listened to this request with displeasure, but he conceded, condescending to the weakness of the brethren. The bath was built, but only once had time to wash in it, as the source of divine water dried up. And to tell you the truth: we fasted a lot and prayed a lot with tears, but there was no water. The whole year the water in the source did not appear, and we grieved a lot. But when our father destroyed the bath, God again gave us water. ”
