Every human soul yearns for God, even the soul of a non-believer.
Every human soul yearns for God, even the soul of a non-believer.
Therefore, you won't be able to find anyone on earth who is fully happy, regardless of whether they have everything, regardless of whether they are a millionaire or a billionaire, whether they hold positions of authority and power, or are constantly showered with praise and affection from others.
You won't find anyone who is fully happy.
One cannot be happy without God. Hence, even the most ardent atheist longs for God subconsciously and unknowingly. He is devastated by this and tries everything to avoid feeling sad.
He experiences this sadness because his heart longs for God and instead of seeking Him, he makes every effort to do the most horrific thing - to run away from one's true being and become like an animal or a demon, which is nothing more than a life led in the spirit of Antichrist.
One does everything to avoid this suffering - he is willing to forsake being a human, he takes on the characteristics of various animals and even resembles the devil with his soul. This is the most dreadful thing that can happen to a person.
This kind of person - if he has already made this decision, loses the capacity to see and recognize Christ. So, as a result, he will only be interested in magic tricks from Him.
He will look past Christ and wonder, "What did He do? Did He heal someone? Did He raise someone from the dead? Did he multiply five loaves of bread? Did you see what happened?”
And when Christ is being crucified and says: "I thirst" (John 19:28)
Their attitude is:
"Let's wait and see what happens if we don't let him drink any water. Will Elijah come to His rescue? Let’s enjoy the sight and see how Prophet Elijah will come in a chariot.”
This is the attitude they had!
This kind of person has lost his ability to see Christ, the ability to see God, because he unfortunately made the decision: “I am running away from being human.”
A person avoids every feeling, including love, saying that “love brings suffering”.
How little they know - as they have not had the revelation…
Love does not bring on suffering.
Rather, what brings on suffering is the parasitic demon, which turns love into passion.
Archpriest Theodore Gignadze
