Over 90 percent of Russians are going to celebrate Easter anyway - poll.

One in ten people is going to attend the night Easter service

Moscow, April 22, Iterfax – The vast majority of Russians prepares to celebrate the main Christian holiday – Easter Sunday – on April 24, sociologists of Levada-Center, the analytical research center of Yury Levada, told Interfax.

The all-Russian opinion poll showed that 74-78% of Russians will make traditional Easter cakes, coloured eggs and paskha, a festal dish of those foods which are forbidden during the fast (cottage cheese, butter, eggs, raisin, almonds, vanilla, and candied fruits).

32% of respondents will celebrate Easter at home with their family members, 30% want to visit friends and 27% intend to go to the cemetery which, strictly speaking, contradicts to the general church tradition.

One in ten Russian citizens (9%) is going to attend the night service, mostly students and people above 55, and dwellers of small villages and towns.
