"Let us eagerly run our course as men called by our God and King.... Let us please the Lord as soldiers please their king; because we are required to give an exact account of our service after the campaign." - St. John Climacus in the Ladder of Divine Ascent (Step 1:15)
Our monastery is looking for "a few good men" called by God:
On March 20, 1779, Captain William Jones advertised the need for "A Few Good Men" to enlist in the Marines.
Over 200 years later, during the 1970s and 1980s, the phrase showed up in the recruiting slogan "The Marines are looking for A FEW GOOD MEN." And the rest is history.
Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery is also looking for "a few good men" called by God.
If you are interested in giving your life to God and giving up everything to serve Him; if you are inclined to heed His call of "Come, follow Me", please consider joining us here at Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery.
We are praying for God to send us "a few good men" who are willing to give up everything to follow Christ and help us continue to build this flourishing outpost of the Kingdom of God.
"Then the Lord said to them, 'The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest' (Luke 10:2).
If you believe that God is calling you to serve Him in the monastic life, please contact me at cybermonk@holycrossmonastery.org
With love and blessings,
Father Abbot Stefan
