“For godly sorrow produces repentance.” (2nd Cor. 2:10)

Everyone experiences sadness, sorrow, and grief, but godly sorrow is more associated with feeling remorse for one’s actions. It is the heart-felt conviction that we have offended God by breaking His Commandments, disobeyed His Law, and forsaken His love by seeking after our own selfish quests and pleasures. Godly sorrow produces tears of repentance and a buring desire to return to God.
