“Then He began to speak to them in parables…” (Mark 12:1)

Because Jesus was a “Teacher,” He utilized various methods and taught in a myriad of ways: by straightforward tactics, through lessons, by miracles, and by His Own example. Yet, He also taught by stories or parables; and these parables had a two-fold purpose: they revealed teachings and truths to those who desired it but also concealed the truth from those who were indifferent. In other words, those who “had ears to hear” heard the message, while those who didn’t, didn’t.
