“Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.” (Matt. 15:30)

“Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.” (Matt. 15:30)

During our Lord’s earthly ministry, He miraculously healed many who suffered illness and malady. However, this was not His main purpose or intent, but a merciful aside which punctuated the fact of Who He was: the Messiah.

Christians often have an over-simplified idea of healing, thinking that all we need to do is turn to God and He will restore us to health, because He loves us. Yet, if God healed everyone every time they were sick, there would be no death, and without death, there would be no afterlife. Remember, even our Lord suffered and died upon the cross, but that death was to pay the ransom for our sins and His Resurrection was the proof of our salvation.
