Monastery of St. John the Baptist ,Makrinos. Ιερά Μονή Αγίου Ιωάννου Προδρόμου του Μακρυνού

At the foot of Gerania in pine hillside, stands at an altitude of two hundred meters the Monastery of St. John the Baptist lengthen. The monastery church belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Megara and Salamis. The epithet "lengthen" Y, is said was given to the Monastery in contrast to other temples of Saint John, in the vicinity of Megara. Already the name that is found in 1754, in a handwritten dedication Gospel.
