Although this morning's gospel message might seem rather dry and boring, it actually sets up tomorrow's exciting miracle of feeding the multitude with fives loaves and two fish. The important thing to discern today, is that Christ takes His disciples out into the wilderness and far from civilization. Still the people flock after our Lord to hear Him preach and be healed. Therefore, when we actually read of the miraculous feeding of the five thousand, no one could refute this Messianic "sign" by claiming there was a Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club nearby.
