Christ is Born!
Christ is Born!
“In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and earthenware, and some for noble use and some for ignoble. If any one purifies himself from what is ignoble, then he will be a vessel for noble use, consecrated and useful to the Master of the house, ready for any good work.” (2nd Tim. 2:20-21)
You may think that God only uses people with impressive abilities and gifts or those who have gone to seminary and studied for many years, but the truth as to what type of person God chooses to use is revealed in the above text: those who purify themselves (confess their sin), struggle against sin, and strive to be vessels of honor. Therefore, each of us must choose the type of vessel of grace we will be, and if we desire to become one which is used for noble purpose, then keeping your vessel clean becomes your “soul” responsibility.
Fr. John
